The Razor 8.5x50 is a full-sized roof prism binocular with bold styling and high-performance optics. Large 50 mm objectives have been configured into its design - and twilight never looked so bright! The open bridge form factor allows for a more natural grip with enhanced stability.

Optically - the Razor has few peers. Phase corrected roof prisms with dielectric HR coatings have been integrated into its optical path to ensure maximum light transmission, enhanced durability, high-resolution, a sleek profile, and startling levels of contrast. The entire optical assembly has been optimized - Vortex's XT technology minimizes aberrations to undetectable levels while providing distortion-free viewing with edge-to-edge accuracy and detail. The combination of XD lenses and XR multicoating significantly improves the viewer's ability to locate and identify subjects at great distances. The high-performance roof prisms are fully phase-corrected to ensure maximum light transmission, clarity, and contrast. Dielectric coatings on the prism's reflective surfaces ensure a near-perfect level of light transmission.

The Razor is built to endure harsh conditions while delivering spectacular views. The rugged housing is argon purged and o-ring sealed to create a fogproof and waterproof seal that is also dust resistant. The lenses have been treated with an ultra-hard scratch-resistant ArmorTek coating that repels oils, salts, and abrasive particles. A rubberized treatment has been applied to the housing to ensure a secure no-slip grip in any weather, climate, or situation.

In use, the Razor handles very well - the open frame design offers a comfortable feel for both small and large hands. Eyeglass and sunglass wearers are treated to a significant 18 mm of eye relief, while the metal-reinforced twist-up click-stop eyecups provide a fine-tuned view. Additionally, Vortex also includes a set of flared fold-down eyecups.
