PDC22 Direct Box is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for isolating HD camcorder input When I had previously tried to feed the output of the church's audio mixer subchannels into my Canon HD camcorder I got a lot of hum and the mixer sliders had to stay down at -30db to prevent overload. I used this dual DI box to isolate the camera to eliminate the hum and to attenuate the signal by -20db. Now the mixer sliders are up where I have some control over the levels. From mixer to DI I used some short 1/4 patch cords. From the DI to the camcorder I used Hosa cable with two XLR females feeding a stereo 1/8 plug. Total solution was less than $40 and it works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bang For The Buck... For the price, it's a great passive 2-channel DI box. Period! Bought several for about a year ago (for my keyboard sequencers) without any malfunctions... if there is any question when there's a short in the line - it's always because someone is using a CHEAPER CABLE... and not fault of the Pyle DI boxes. Transparency is very acceptable when using electronic keyboards, drum machines and whatnot.NOTE: The 20db attenuation setting (on all my PDC22's) HAS a noticable hollowness to it when set to the -20db setting... so simply run the attenuation at either 0db or -40db (I run 0db). I still gave it 5 stars overall. As stated before, it's a good bang for the buck DI box... or you can buy a nice Radial ProD2 Stereo Passive Direct Box for exactly 10X as much $$$ (if you have the budget). Please be aware of that when comparing any two Passive Direct Boxes. It all boils down to your budget and sonic requirements (signal integrity). FYI - they both have ground lift and Attenuation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap, built like iron... does the job.. I use this to input an active pickup heavy metal guitar into my mixer direct. My only gripe is the inside of the XLR ports is plastic. Other than that works perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything a Direct Box should do! I run an acoustic musician's Open Mic Night in a local restaurant/bar. 2 Powered speakers and a Peavey 8-channel mixer. Using a 20 snake, I provide connections for 3 mics and 3 instrument connections via 2 Direct Boxes. It's a small room venue, and the PDC22's work flawlessly. They lowest price per port, and they perform as well as much more expensive products. Surprisingly, the signal is cleaner than plugging the instrument directly into the mixer. Couldn't have asked for a better solution. Great bang-for-the-buck!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Attenuation switch is the worst thing ever I bought 9 of these units to convert balanced signals from my audio interface to the unbalanced inputs of my vintage recording console. They do a decent job of that conversion; when they work properly. The ground lift definitely helps. However, the major design flaw is the attenuation switch. On every single unit, the attenuation switch is faulty. The slightest bump of that switch can make you entirely lose signal. If it isn't in the exact right spot, you get no signal. I would have to spend several minutes on each channel playing with this switch to get the signal. I realized life is precious and I shouldn't waste my time playing with these stupid switches any more. I disconnected all of the units and plugged the interface directly into the console channels. The minimal noise can be filtered. Time wasted playing with that terrible switch will never be recovered. I'd return but since it was recycling night when I purchased, the boxes are all gone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Product I wanted to balance my signal as close to the source and before any processing. The Pyle PDC22 Direct Box was the perfect for the job. The pass-thru line is a great option for sending signal to other sources and the resulting balanced signal is high quality. This is a great addition to my DJ,KJ setup. I always recommend balancing line signal before sending to an active crossover and this unit is an easy and affordable way to do it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from PDC22 Direct Box by Pyle-Pro i bought three of these for keyboards at a church. we ran 3 keyboards in stereo. with all 3 Roland keyboards i found that i needed to keep the keyboard main volume control at or below halfway point to keep the DI's from sounding bad and distorting. they are OK for cheap, but i would look elsewhere if you want Pro quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works. minimal instructions, I'm new to direct boxes so would have helped. they worked. I could hear a loud buzzing noise, put on the ground and it went away. seems that a few of my xlr cables have trouble locking in to the box, not sureif it's the brand new cable, or the di box. overall, 1/4 the price, can't compare to other boxes because these are my first.
