    Avenger D520LB Reviews

D520LB 40" Extension Arm (Black) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good, Sturdy Arm. But Beware. So far, this arm has been nice and study. I use it to hold an alien bee strobe with a 30x40 softbox. The compression holds up just fine and I see no functional issues. However, there is just one little thing that bugs me. The compression head WILL NOT come off. And even if it did, you couldn't secure it to anything. A simple solution would be to buy a separate compression head, and use the attached compression head as a grip handle or whatever you may want to use it for. Overall, great product. JUST KNOW THE COMPRESSION HEAD WILL NOT COME OFF.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from long as my leg Yes, this is a golden investment, especially if you have high ceilings. You'll want to take advantage of those, because the average height of a omni light stand is 8 feet which is only two feet higher the average person. This can end up making them too bright and light less of the surrounding space. So, get an arm and and make the stand taller, and then stick the light on top of that and not feel great about yourself. This is also good if you don't want to have a light stand in the shot. Put on the arm and have the light overhanging the scene. And get a sandbag while you're at it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Valuable item for light control Great extention arm, must have in a pro photographers studio or travel kit for portraits, and other applications. I use these arms to hold reflectors, and flags, as well as use these to extend the light over an area that I don't want to see in my frame. Well made arm, easy to use and good quality. No complaints about it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made and strong Like all Avenger/Manfrotto products this arm and clamp are very well made and grip tightly. You really can't go wrong with a product from this brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Piece To Have I got this extension arm to add another option to my mini-booms. It allows me to put a variety of lights, modifyers and photo gear out away from the light stand. Sometimes you don't need a full blown boom and this arm offers that alternative. The strength and durability of the arm and grip head is a nice addition. The D200 Grip head along with a 6 or longer pin are needed to properly attach lights to the arm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A classic that WORKS! Having used C-stands for over two decades, I know that Avenger always deliver. The only reason for my purchase of additional arms were that over time, some have gone missing... I guess whoever has my old arms now know how great they are! No negatives... really!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from strong arm great way to get any angle or placement of your lights when used with the grip head and 6 inch pin it makes a great mini type boom arm this thing is rock solid and cheap in price for being such a great product just buy it and you will love it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Avenger Quality is top notch This arm is excellent. It is not painted like the Matthews, it is black steel so the tolerances will fit all your equipment, unlike the Matthew Black c-stands and arms which can sometimes be to thick. Clamp strength is strong, super useful.

What is the maximum load the arm can hold?

What is the maximum load the arm can hold?
    Asked by: peter
The 40" arm load is limited by how much the stand it is mounted on can hold. You will want to make sure the attachments, counterweight and arm weight less than the stands load limit.
