Pyle Pro PCAU44 overview

  • 1Description

In this age of 1000-plus Watt stereo amplifiers it's easy to forget that there are still plenty of uses for a small 120 watt per channel amplifier like the Pyle Pro PCAU44 Mini 120 Watt x 2 Stereo Power Amplifier w/ USB Input.

You can use it to fill your kitchen, den, bedroom or computer desk with music from your Walkman or MP3 player via its front-panel USB input or CD/MP3 mini jack input to a pair of desktop speakers.

And it works just as well to amplify the weak audio your netbook's or notebook's speakers put out. Again, just feed the audio into the PCAU44 via the USB input or use a mini jack to connect you computer to the PCAU44.

In both scenarios, just add a modest pair of speakers and hook them up to the back wire-capture terminals and you've got audio loud enough to dance to.

    Pyle Pro PCAU44 reviews

    PCAU44 Mini 120 Watt x 2 Stereo Power Amplifier w/ USB/CD Input is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent little amp! Exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a small amp to power 2 x 100watt speakers in a large basement room. This does the job very well! It's small size makes installation easy. It's very well built with a metal case and very heavy feel to it. Very powerful too! There's no problem driving the speakers...I usually leave the volume at half or below. Any higher is too loud but still has very little distortion. Probably could blow my speakers apart if I wanted. Simple to use with RCA inputs. I plugged in an Airport Express and use it with Airplay from an iPhone or iPad. Only complaint, if I can find one, are the bright blue LEDs on the front. No way to turn these off either. They'll certainly light up a room which is kind of cool looking. But you may need to cover these lights if you don't want the light spilling into the room. I'd definitely recommend this amp to everyone!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great amplifier! I use this amplifier to connect my JBL Conrol 1 Pro speakers to my old (2008) 27 iMac. Easy to use and produces great sound! Only drawback for me is that it would have been nice if it had a headphone jack, but Pyle Pro does have such an amplifier for a little bit more than the cost of this one. But overall, great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Using this to power big speakers in my office My office-mate and I like to listen to music as we work usually undead Funk (HCTM) or classic rock, or Irish music. For years we had been doing this using cheap powered desktop speakers, sourcing the music from our PCs. When we got a pair of 2-way passive PA speakers as a gift, we wired them up to this PCAU44 Mini stereo amplifier. Totally impressed, We usually listen to music at a low volume, but it's nice to know that if someone annoying comes in we can crank the volume up to levels at which they cannot hear themselves think, forcing them to leave our office. The sound is clean and clear with excellent stereo imaging. The input, controls and meters are very simple to use and get the job done with great sound. I've already recommended these little Pyle amps to friends looking to equip their offices with great sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powering outdoor speakers -work great! I have this product connected an Apple Airport Express with Yamaha Outdoor speakers. No distortion and plenty of volume with room to spare. I currently have 2 speakers and plan to add 2 more since it is pushing plenty of sound. I am controlling all of this through my iPhone and iPad. You can access your entire iTunes library through the airport express.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Item With home AV system. It's small and has the connections I wanted. But, it's very badly made. It heats up too much for a modern amp, has hum without being connected to a source, one channel was dead when delivered (had to return it), LED lights are very bright and annoying, speaker connections are hard to use, no balance adjustments, no remote, connections all over and not together on back and generally badly designed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best so far I've tried the 40 & 80 watt Pyle but this one so far is the best one to date. I am using them in 96 classrooms this summer to update older equipment and they are perfect in size and in sound.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little amp Used for computer and gaming, covered the blue lights, but sound is great, pounds very well for its size.
