The Toshiba 42CV600 42" Multi System Full HD LCD TV is a TV that works right here in the USA and almost any country in the world that has TV and electricity.

It's an excellent set in its own right but if you've just been transferred overseas, are in the military or just going abroad for a year or two, this could be exactly the set you need. Of course we ship almost everywhere in the world so even if you're already beyond our shores the CV600 is an excellent choice.

It can handle all sorts of variations of NTCS, PAL and SECAM TV signals and its native resolution is Full HD (1920 x 1080p) so 720p and 1080i work too. Two HDMI 1.3 inputs mean those signals will stay in pure digital form from source to set. It's also got both component and composite inputs for less critical signals, like say a DVD player.

In addition to being a good-sized TV set your CV600 makes one big honking computer monitor, thanks to its RGB input. If you prefer PC gaming to TV gaming consoles now you can play on a big screen too.

And speaking of PCs and the like, have you got a lot of JPEG pictures on your PC? Copy them to a USB device (or hook up a USB device directly) and share them with friends and family on the big screen.

Full HD 1080p
The CV600 Full High Definition LCD TV seizes the maximum potential of HD resolution. The LCD panel holds the exact number of pixels (1920 x 1080) to allow pixel-to-pixel reproduction of 1080i/1080p HD contents. Standard definition contents can also be enriched to fit the HD resolution, resulting in finer images on screen.
Power Meta Brain 10-Bit Color
Ten-Bit video processing maintains data quality during video processing that produces over 1 billion colors, resulting in more natural picture creation. The Power Meta Brain engine deploys a powerful LSI (large scale integration) system that uses five advanced technologies to achieve 10-bit processing for all stages from input to output. While 8-bit technology can produce 16 million colors, 10-bit produces 64 times as many, or over 1 billion colors. This much larger quantity of data means that the colors you see are more accurate and the transitions between colors are smoother. The result is a much more realistic picture, delivering all the vivid color intensity that was present in the original source.
3-D Color Management
Most TVs have a color adjustment knob, but the CV600 goes much further, enabling you to adjust hue, saturation and color brightness for each of the six basic colors separately. You can perfectly adjust skin color or grass color, for example, without affecting the other colors.
Exact Scan Mode
The Exact Scan Mode maximizes the performance of your CV600's Full HD panel by displaying the full HD image of 1920 x 1080. When an HD video signal (1080i/1080p) is input into a conventional WXGA LCD panel (1366 x 768), the signal undergoes a scaling process, which does not output the true quality of the HD 1080i/1080p signal. Consequently, there will only be 92% of the original picture displayed on screen after scaling. With Exact Scan Mode, uncompromising pixel-to-pixel reproduction is created, achieving a true-to-original 1080i/1080p input signal quality.
Intelligent Backlight Control
Precise adjustment of the backlight behind the pixel array is necessary to obtain optimum picture quality. In your CV600, the brightness of the backlight is automatically adjusted according to a sophisticated histogram analysis of the brightness and location of dark portions in each scene. Deeper blacks in dark scenes (where dark portions cover most of the screen) are reproduced by reducing the intensity of the backlight, resulting in greatly improved contrast.
