can this be used with the Audio Technica System 10 Transmitter to use with XLR mics or XLR output from mixers or press multi-box?
Asked by: Charles
Yes, I’ve used it this way. Just need to be sure to adjust the attenuation as needed. Also, keep in mind it won’t supply phantom power, so you’ll need a dynamic mic.

question

Can you use this cable to power a monitor? I have 4 pin Hirose out of my camera and the monitor has 4 pin XLR. What about the pin configuration?
Asked by: Anonymous
Short answer: No.Longer: The XLRW (4 pin Hirose to XLR3F) cable is designed to connect a dynamic or self-powered condenser microphone to a wireless body pack. It carries no power, only microphone signal. It's possible, even likely that the Audio-Technica Hirose connector would not mate with the connector on your camera. This series has multiple models with tabs and grooves at different angles to prevent plugging the wrong things together...Your monitor requires 12v on an XLR4. Without knowing the purpose of the Hirose connector on your camera, I couldn't begin to speculate whether it can source 12v with sufficient current, nor what the proper pinouts would be.
