question

Does this require power?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. The Audio-Technica PRO-88 Transmitter supplies the power when it plugs into it. This is an example of one of the wireless systems. B&H # AUP88W83068.

Is this microphone good for one-person interview ...

Is this microphone good for one-person interview at a noisy location (documentary) ?
Asked by: ¿¿¿¿¿
No. An omnidirectional mic is likely to pick up a lot of background noise because the mic is designed to pickup sound from all directions. It would be better to use a cardioid (unidirectional) microphone which will pick up sound from one direction, in front of the mic, and rejects background noise coming from the back and sides. Since you chose a mic with a 3.5mm connector, you may want to consider the Microphone Madness MM-LAPEL-2 Lapel-Style Unidirectional Microphone (B&H # MILAPEL2) which has a 3.5mm TRS connector and is in the same price range as the MT830mW. The MM-LAPEL-2 can be connected directly to recorders, cameras, and wireless transmitters with a 3.5mm TRS mic input that supply plug-in power.
