question

Can this be used with a Rode NT1A Anniversary Vocal Condenser Microphone?
Asked by: Kaleb J.
Yes it can as long as it's done properly. The NTG 1A is a large diaphragm condenser and has a bit of weight to it. Just make sure one of the tripod legs is pointing in the same direction as the mic. That way the bulk of the weight will be supported by a tripod leg. Other wise if you don't and extend the boom to far. Your mic will hit the floor and become a paper weight.

Can I add the On-Stage MSA5000 Laptop Mount to it?
Asked by: C
No, the Samson MK10 will not work with the On-Stage MSA5000 laptop mount. The MSA5000 can only be used on straight mic stands and the boom arm on the MK10 is permanently attached. If you do want a tripod style stand with a removable boom arm to use for other applications with a microphone, the Auray MS-5230F Tripod Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom (B&H # AUMS5230F) or On-Stage MS9701B+ Heavy-Duty Euro Boom Mic Stand (B&H # ONMS9701BP) are good options in the same price range as the MK10. If you don't need the boom arm for other purposes, any sturdy straight stand can be used to mount the laptop tray.

Can this hold an ipad with a mount?

Can this hold an ipad with a mount?
Asked by: Craig
If you plan to mount an iPad at the end of the boom on this stand, I would recommend putting a sandbag over the tripod legs, such as the Galaxy Audio Life Saver Sandbag, BH #GALSR38. Otherwise, it is safe mount an iPad on the main shaft of the stand with a mount, such as the Auray IPU-108 Universal Tablet Stand Adapter, BH #AUIPU108.
