Get a great sound for your interviews with the Audio-Technica AT8010, a handheld or standmount condenser microphone tailored for speech. Use the on-board switchable high-pass filter to roll-off the low end and minimize sonic rumble.

The mic's omnidirectional polar pattern ensures an even response around the capsule and captures ambiance naturally, which is a boon for you-are-there radio pieces. The rugged housing, complete with a steel grille, is designed for use in demanded locals. Internal shockmounting minimizes handling and cable noise, so the host of a broadcast can share the mic with a guest.

The mic can operate on either phantom power supplied through the XLR connection, or by means of a single AA battery. A mic clip, threaded adapter, battery, and soft protective case are included, as is a windscreen.

As a low budget retirement center we do not have $3,000 to spend on a mic system for our grand piano. We are finding the ATM10A works fine for our closed circuit TV application.

I use this with my Tascam DR-07 portable digital recorder. It enhances the sound a lot and cuts out background noise. I use it mainly to record interviews and lectures.

Good response, low distortion, omni pattern. I use these for capturing ambiance on location for radio. And, if one gets trashed by a ham handed banner hanger, the loss is not lifestyle threatening. A good, fast solution when you're under the gun to get done. Not in the same class as a 451, but a decent alternative. And highly cost effective.

I own many mics. I bought this omnidirectional one to record background audience�noise and their comments�for my videotaped clients who give presentations. �Because it is phantom-powered, it is sensitive and has low signal-to-noise ratio. �It is a terrific mic for the price!
