Note:
The Striker cannot accommodate a follow focus or matte box, as it does not have a baseplate. If adding more weight to the front of the camera, we recommend one of the Cinema DSLR Kits with a shoulder pad and counterbalance weight.

I bought another cheaper brand the promptly retuned it and bought the Striker, This is one solid rig, I'm using it with a Canon 7D and a Canon XA10 and the Zacuto has made shooting with both a lot easier and has helped improve shot quality.

A must-have for run and gun

I use this for my Canon cameras, events, red carpets, doc style shoots and its awesome. Not having a over the shoulder rig is great in tight corners as you have no back end to worry about. If it's a lens and camera, maybe a zoom strapped up it's awesome, not heavy. This is much better than the redrock because of all the angles you can adjust the rig to. Worth every Penny.

Pricey but wonderful...

It has a high price tag but the free z-finder promotion bundling made me spend the funds. So far I love it. I could have probably gotten away with just the gunstock model but glad I have the option of the extra point of contact. Makes hand held shooting much easier!

it gives what u expect..more stable images for video than handandle. But is very expansive. extremely well made, very light and easy to unmount and put inside ur bag.

I'm new to shooting DSLR video, and I was looking for a (relatively) low cost intro into better ways of shooting than by holding a heavy DSLR out in front of me at eye level. I've just begun using my Striker, but must say that I've found it to be solid and highly configurable. I've used it configured for both the right eye/right hand grip/left focus as well as the left eye/left hand grip/right focus, and it works well in either set up. I paired it with the Zacuto Z-finder and I can focus and even follow focus effectively by hand. Although it is designed as a should stock, I configured it so that the bottom of the stock butt rests on top of my shoulder, which is more stable, and less tiring for me. It doesn't replace the beefier, heavier and most costly over the shoulder models, if you need it, but for me, it is a good option that works. I had to switch it from the right grip to the left grip, because on my D3s, video record is triggered by the Preview (stop down) button on the front of the camera, and the Live View button is on the bottom right. Most other useful controls are also 'right handed', which makes it easier for me. I've also figured out that with my right hand on the lense focus ring, I can use the middle of my index finger to lightly press the record button and not have to have 3 seconds of wiggling video on each end where I'm searching for the record button. We adapt.Although build quality is excellent, I find the pricing, for what it is (really), a little high (but I'd buy it again).

Really happy with this purchase, especially since it was $200 off! Two of the most impressive things (after the quality of my Zacuto Striker) were the speed of delivery from B&H to my home in Canada (4 days from time of purchase) AND the speed of Zacuto's support people who answered my question within 4 minutes from the time I send my email!

I should have bought striker earlier

I use the striker for shooting model portfolios. It is compact and well made. Well worth the cost!
