As I understand, the mic gets the power from the Tascam phantom +48V OR from the supplied power module. Please clarify. Can I plug the mic directly into Tascam XLR or I need an additional adapter? Thanks in advance.
Asked by: Michael
EDIT: I take that back, the mic itself plugs into the battery box/power pack/receiver. There is a standard XLR cable from that box to your Tascam recorder/camera, what have you. So no additional adapter should be needed.

The signal is low on the AT803. I have to compress the sound causing the noise floor to rise. Is this a common issue and is there a fix?
Asked by: Aaron
Make sure that you are using either phantom power or a new, fully powered AA battery with the Audio-Technica AT8531 In-Line Powering Module. This will ensure that the AT803B Lavalier Microphone is receiving the proper amount of voltage that it requires to function.
