    Bower SFD290 reviews

SFD290 Digital Automatic Flash is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for its' intended use! This unit works perfectly for my use. No, it isn't a top end speed light, but as a basic flash unit or remote with a cord, it has been perfect. It has a quality build and seems to be pretty durable so far. My granddaughter dropped it as soon as opened it and before I got to USA it! Good thing she is only 3 feet tall! The pictures taken with this unit came out wonderfully. Very happy with it's performance so far! Feels solid and sturdy enough for everyday, normal unit and is flexible enough to function in all the capacities in which it was designed for! Very pleased with it and would buy it again in this situation. In fact I'm thinking about get a second one to open up some new lighting options!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap and does what it says The build quality, as you might imagine for the low price, is not the greatest. The zooming head is a little flimsy, but if you want a cheap flash to use for smallish-sized room bouncing or for direct flash, this should do the trick. The auto feature is easy, just set the proper aperture for whatever ISO you want to use and you're all set. I found that I had to dial up my aperture or ISO by 2/3 of a stop or so to get properly balanced bounce flash, but it's okay. If you're using a kit zoom 4-5.6 aperture, you'll need at least ISO 400 to bounce in a normal sized room. If you want to bounce in larger rooms (my case, unfortunately), you'll probably want to look at a more powerful flash or faster lenses. Four stars for being as advertised, minus a bit flimsy build on the zoom head. I would recommend, as long as buyer knows the power limitations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Flash This is a great product. The great thing about this is that it swivels and zooms to get the perfect shot. A downside to this is that if you don't have a diffuser or don't know how to make one the flash could washout the picture. All around this is a great flash to use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from cheap build Got this for a low priced, manual flash for my older 35mm. Powerful, natural lighting, but, cheap build. Flash foot broke off within a day of opening the box. If it had a metal foot like my SB-600 I would probably still be using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! My original flash had no way the flexability of this flash. No complaints.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far I really like this flash. I am really enjoying using this flash and wish I had bought one a long time ago. Being able to put a much more soft light on my subject and to get that sparkle in the eye that I had been looking for without washing everything out has been great.
