The Legend HD 8x36 from Bushnell is a high-performance mid-sized roof prism binocular with outstanding optics. Its lightweight yet rugged magnesium chassis affords this fine optic a trim profile, while ensuring years of dependable use.

This Legend HD is configured with fully multicoated extra-low dispersion (ED) lenses for optimum optical performance. These fluoride ED glass lenses offer an outstanding level of wide angle viewing performance - they provide amazing color rendition, enhanced resolution, and vivid contrast while virtually eliminating chromatic aberration and color-fringing. The resulting views reveal distinct details that viewers with garden-variety binoculars would miss out on.

Each lens is custom-coated with Bushnell's proprietary ultra wide band A/R coating system to maximize light transmission across the entire visible spectrum (380-750 nm). This anti-reflective coating process optimizes each lens' brightness and contrast levels, while allowing colors to be rendered accurately. Finally, the exterior lens surfaces are treated with a water repellent Rainguard HD coating to minimize light dispersion from haze, mist, fog, and rain.

This Legend HD sports a rugged yet lightweight waterproof housing with a magnesium chassis. The interior is nitrogen purged and o-ring sealed for reliable all-weather service, and the exterior is coated with rubber armoring with comfortable soft touch grip accents for secure no-slip handling in any climate.

Legend Ultra HD 8x36 Binocular (Camouflage) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good for the price I would rate this product 5 stars, if not for a couple of flaws. First, the front lenses covers are not tight enough around the barrels of the objectives. I lost one on my fist outing with them. Secondly, they are slightly awkward to look through. You can not rest them on your nose or around your eye sockets, I tend to rest them against the bottom of my eye brows. I have read other complaints about this, but your mileage may vary.Optic quality is excellent, and the RAINGUARD HD technology does work. They didn't fog up on me in the rain either. They also seem to be built well and I think they will last, although only time will tell.I would recommend these to a friend, and I would most likely buy these again if lost or stolen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Binoculars for Travelers The 8x36 is ideally suited for travel. It is small and light enough to bring into your carry on luggage, but it gives you a big performance in terms of magnification, clarity and weather resistance. I bought these specifically for my trip to China, and I enjoyed them tremendously in Zhingjiajie National Forest Park, when it rained half the time, and in Tibet, where it is always sunny in November. The fit in a jacket pocket or around your neck, not too bulky or heavy, not a burden at all, like the big binoculars can be. I used them all the time. Highly recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad, Not a under the radar super star The size 36 is great, not to big, to small. The lenses are bright with minimal peripheral aberration. The adjustment focus wheel, doesn't turn enough so my eyes cant both be exactly focused. The build quality of the binocs are only ok. Do I use them? yes.Are they adequate? yes. Would I recommend them? Probably. Would I buy them again, probably not.
