Yes, this cable will work with the C500. It will also work with the C100, C300 and other Canon's such as the X305.

All indications are that the Canon DC-930 DC Cable (B&H# CADC930) would work with the Canon CA-940 Compact Power Adapter, an AC adapter that is long discontinued and therefore unavailable to us for testing. The way to tell would be to measure two aspects of the DC barrel output port on the CA-940. First, it needs to be 5.5mm in diameter. Second, the middle pin in that port on the CA-940 needs to be 2.1mm in diameter.
