    Shure SM63 reviews

SM63L Omnidirectional Dynamic Microphone with Extended Handle (Champagne) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound quality is spectacular When I first used the SM63L microphone, I wasn't sure that I was using it properly... I plugged the adapter into my Canon 5D MKII and my Canon t3i and went on to record some interviews... when I played back on camera, all you hear is hissing... without wanting to research too much I will assume that the Canon won't playback stereo captured sound. BUT!!!... when I downloaded the video to my laptop for further review, I was immersed in sound... I honestly have to say that the sound over-shadowed my video without a doubt... If you are looking for a microphone that will deliver crisp, clear sound quality, even in the loudest environments (let's say Expos) this is the mic to get.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Electronic News Gathering We have used dozens of these for electronic news gathering systems (ENG). They are fairly rugged and deliver very good sound quality. The mic element takes a fair amount of abuse, has very good isolation from handling noise, and delivers good levels to ENG cameras without phantom power. The extra length also helps ENG, especially for use with a flag. The only problem with them is that after plugging and unplugging an XLR cable repeatedly, the set screw for the connector tends to loosen. If you don't tighten it, the connector will pull out and ruin the mic. I think they are a little expensive for what they are yet we buy them anyway because they are a really good ENG handheld mic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous, Slick, Rugged and Clear Forget your RE50/B's and get out of the '50s. Give up your hammers and get this one. Every bit as rugged, but better freq response, and contoured right at the speech points of the spectrum. Hears up to 20 KHz, +/- 3 db down to 80 Hz. No need for low cut filter. Speech is clear and fresh, like a spring brook.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Mic This mic seems to be built with the Shure quality we have come to trust. I am using it to record interviews and ambient sounds. The one thing that I didn't understand is why the LB cost more. It really ought to be the base model for this lineup. Seemed silly to me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the long handle I bought this mic to use in media scrums since it was recommended by others that use it. It says that it is omni directional but I think the pick up pattern isn't that big. I would buy it again but not for the use that I am using it for

Rated 5 out of 5 by from light weight This mic is similar to the mic used by televangelist Jimmy Schwagart in the late 80s and early 90s the difference is that this mic is modern of the year 2015.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional Mic with excellent sound This mic not only does a nice job on the sound pick up - but it looks very professional as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It was good quality. It has good quality of sounds. I would keep buy it if I need to.
