The EverFocus EAN1350 1.3 Megapixel Network Camera uses a 1.3 MP sensor to deliver ultra high resolution images of the surveillance area. Because of its high pixel count, it is possible to digitally magnify the image many times over (12x zoom) without losing clarity and that way bring identifying details, such as a person's face or a vehicle's license plate, into close-up view. It is also possible to move the picture from side to side, and up and down for virtual PTZ functionality.
Video can be captured simultaneously in the MPEG-4 and M-JPEG compression formats. This will allow video to be streamed live in the faster MPEG-4 format and at the same time recorded in the higher resolution M-JPEG format.
For optimum 24-hour surveillance the camera uses a Day/Night function, powered by an IR cut filter, to switch from color to a light sensitive B/W mode in low light conditions. In B/W mode, the camera will provide visible images in light levels as low as 0.2 lux. The camera also employs a WDR function to compensate for high contrast and backlit scenes.
Other important functions include audio I/O ports for 2-way voice communication over the network, PoE for flexible camera placement, and digital motion detection for heightened security and for better data management. There's also an analog BNC port for viewing camera and lens adjustments on a handheld test monitor.
