    J-Rod J-ROD TWIN MOUNT reviews

Twin Mount is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product! used this to replace a different mic mount rod I had .. I like the 2 mounts and the quality of this unit seems very good .. I like the spring clips in the shoe mount that (a) keep a nice hold while you are tightening your device onto it and (b) prevent the device from slipping out one side - very good design as I've almost lost other devices on other units from this exact problem). well done !!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Handy, but overpriced I expected a lot more than what i got for the price. It is just a peice of round aluminimum tube with two hot shoes glued to it. For the price i would expect the hot shoes to at least be properly screwed on and possibly movable into different positions for tweaking. It works and we use it with a Sony Z5 with an ambient recording tiny mike. The tiny Mike is hot shoe mounted and we use the rod to get the mic above the french flag on the matte box. Also i expected black rod, but ours came in silver finish with black ends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as Designed but... This is a very smart design and works to add accessories to the standard mic mount on most prosumer cameras. However, Sony's original mic mount is not meant to hold the weight both a shotgun mic and a wireless receiver so the entire rig on the V1u feels wobbly and front heavy. This is a Sony mic holder flaw, not that of the J-Rod. This works OK locked down on a tripod, but I wouldn't want to use it for run/gun work. I intend to return for the J-Rod Super Strong Twin instead.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good for XF models I think the concept is great but the Canon XF series doesn't support the weight well. The mic mount on those cameras obviously aren't made to carry more than just a microphone, so with a receiver and a mic or anything on the Twin Mount creates a lot of sagging. Great product with a camera that can handle it. But since I can't use it, I cannot recommend it.
