Mounting Flexibility for Wall Mounted Antenna
Purchased this On-Stage adapter along with a Shure A13HD mounting flange to allow for flexibility on the installation of a Shure UA864US wall mounted wide band antenna on the side of a ceiling beam. These are quality products for various mounting options from a first rate supplier. Well pleased with price and quality.
Quality, Sharp Looking Mic Flange
It’s pretty hard to get excited about a “pipe” flange; but as flanges go, the A13HD is very nice. It has that quality look and feel. The plating job appears very good. The mounting holes are well supported and accurately formed. The microphone threads are clean and match well with my microphones. The A13HD just looks very nice, and it gives confidence that it will provide long term service. Compared to typical microphone flanges, it is somewhat larger and heavier than most; but that’s what makes it so good. A couple things are not totally apparent in the descriptions of the A13HD. First, the jam nut IS included as shown on the pictures. This is a very important item when you have to line up a microphone and the flange is fixed. It’s doubly significant when you consider that 5/8-27 nuts are not a common size and that you may not be able to run to any old hardware store to get one. Second, the “bolt circle” diameter for the mounting screws is 2 inches. #8 to #10 screws are good for mounting the flange. I used some #8 tapered head wood screws for my project (an adapter to allow multiple microphones in various stereo configurations on a single stand) with good results. Finally, the threaded area of the microphone “stud” is about inch long.
