You are taking photos at a party or other group event and you need to take portraits, group shots and some action. The Dot Line RPS RS-0420/S Digital Flash Bracket Kit will conveniently make your shooting more effective. It includes all the necessary components for using a shoe mount flash raised above the lens, off-camera. Included are the required heavy-duty off-camera shoe cord that maintains full TTL flash control, even with the latest digital cameras, and an electronic cable release that allows triggering the shutter directly from the bracket.

The flash bracket will increase the distance between the flash head and the lens up to 18" (45.7 cm) in order to minimize the occurrence of redeye and to also reduce flash-shadows behind the subject. The rotating camera platform keeps the flash centered over the lens both for horizontal and vertical compositions and can be used both left and right handed.

This kit is for use with Sony Alpha A200, A300, A350, A700, and A900 digital cameras.

I have no complaints about this bracket the day I first used it was a overcast day my shots came out perfect I also used it inside no red eye just perfect shots I’m using it with my Sony Alpha77 if I had to perches it again I would.

Mediocre at best

I got this to use at a corporate event in a few weeks. A few things have become apparent while practicing with it. When sliding the foot onto the mount the release latch on the mount gets in the way and makes the task difficult. Once it is on though, its on. The flash mount is flimsy and does not make me comfortable mounting a $600 piece of equipment on it. When switching the orientation from portrait to landscape, it is quite awkward to push the camera with enough force for it to actually click into place. Most of the time it clicks halfway. The remote shutter release cord falls out often, but this might be a design flaw on Sony's end. The unit as a whole though feels solid. However, with all of the medium priority issues it seems like a half-hearted attempt. There are too many small things I dislike to like the unit as a whole.

question

Will this bracket work with the nikon D200 and SB900 flash unit?
Asked by: Ernest W.
No, it would not. The RPS Lighting RS-0420/S RPS TTL Digital Flash Bracket Kit for Sony Alpha DSLRs listed above is designed for use with Sony Alpha DSLR cameras that use Sony's Auto-Lock hot shoe, not Nikon DSLR cameras. As such, the above option would not work with the Nikon D200 DSLR camera. As the Nikon D200 uses the Nikon 10-pin remote terminal, you would need the RPS Lighting RPS Digital Flash Bracket Kit - Includes Bracket, Off-Camera Cord & Cable Release - for Nikon Pro SLR Cameras, B&H # RPFBN, for your needs.
