Does it fit Shure SM-57s and SM-58s?
No. I just tried it with an SM-57 and it does not fit at all. The A53 mount is for a 20mm. width, straight (non-tapered) microphone like the Shure KSM-141 or similar microphones from other manufacturers.

will an electro voice RE50 work in this?
The RE50 has a 1 inch shank. A A53M is too small as its interior dimension is 0.75 inches.

Does it fit Neumann KM184s?
It should fit snugly, I use these clips for KM-84's, the predecessor to the 184 and am very happy with them.

Does it fit 19mm mics?
FYI it works with 20mm mics (Schoeps CMC6) but rubber insert will prolapse easily - have had a couple of these rendered useless by stagehands forcing KM184s into them. i've never tried vaseline,(!) but i think that may be a joke comment...

Why is this A53 more expensive than the A55 which is a larger version?
The A53 costs more to produce than the A55, despite its physical size.
