I can now use one of my mics in a guitar stomp box for some special effects or jam at a friends putting it in 2nd channel of guitar amp. I got the real thing made by Shure than a knock off for a couple of dollars less.

I buy sm57 vip president kit but they not provided me cable how I operate which type of connection prefer
Asked by: Bisu
Each SM57 requires an XLR cable to connect it to your chosen output (typically either the input of a mixer or powered speaker). The end that connects to each SM57 should be XLR Female, and your mixer or speaker should have either an XLR inuput (where you can plug in an XLR Male cable termination) or 1/4" input for a 1/4" Male cable termination. In summary, you will need either two XLR F to XLR M cables or two XLR F to 1/4" M cables, depending on what you are plugging the two mics into.

trying to hook a line level mixing board and convert it to mic level and connect it to a Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus. Will this work?
Asked by: Reave
This will work, with the appropriate cables (see links below) , it will reduce mixer output by 50dB, which may then be connected, with the proper cable, to a Mic input. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/68603-REG/Shure_A15LA_A15LA_Line_Adapter.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/133543-REG/Comprehensive_XLRP_SPPS_3ST_EXF_Series_Stereo_1_4.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/133524-REG/Comprehensive_XLRJ_MPS_3ST_EXF_Stereo_Mini_Male.html

How does an unpowered/passive transformer provide 24dB of gain?
Asked by: Keith
The 24dB of gain provided by the Shure Microphone Matching Transformer XLR Female to 1/4" Male is achieved when connecting a balanced low-impedance microphone output to an unbalanced high impedance input.

Is this what I would use if I am connecting a mini mixer 4db out into a mic level channel on another board?
Asked by: M
You should be able to use a standard cable to connect the output from the mini mixer to the input on another board. If the connectors you require are XLR female to 1/4" TRS male, you can most likely use a cable such as the Hosa Technology HXS-003 Balanced 3-Pin XLR Female to 1/4" TRS Male Audio Cable (3') - B&H# HOHXS003.

question

Is thi the item to use when trying to attach a shotgun mic to my D750? Does it work to reduce noise coming through the mic?
Asked by: Anonymous
Not sure, but I doubt it. What the transformer does is raise a low impedance microphone signal to instrument level impedance, so that you can plug your mic into the instrument jack of a guitar amp or that sort of thing.
