this inline switch is my go to option for a push to talk option for my headset microphones. it is sturdy and so reliable and has saved many audio bloopers with novice announcers
The A120S is a versatile handheld or belt-clip solution for muting or remote-shutdown of a mic. Utilizing a double-pole double-throw switch, it can mute mono or stereo, can be wired push-on or push-off, and can be either latching or non-latching. I used it to interrupt the battery lead on a wireless body pack with good success, although it is made for audio-quality switching. The only thing I don't care for is the reliability of the latch mechanism, which occasionally doesn't catch.
