Along with its vintage styling, the 731R features high sensitivity and exceptional audio fidelity for vocals and excels when executing a mid-side or Blumlein recording. As is the case with most ribbon microphones, the 731R should not be used to capture sources that produce high air-pressure (kick drums, horns, etc), and a pop-filter is recommended for close capturing of vocals or any instrument.
