A single-action lever loosens the ball and allows it to move freely in all directions, and in addition, a groove allows it to tilt 90° in one direction.

The BD-0 head can serve as a replacement head for an Oben TT-100, TT-200, or TT-300 table-top tripod. Or it can allow you to properly orient your camera on any other tripod model, whether it has a 1/4"-20 or a 3/8"-16 stud – the head has a 3/8" thread and comes with a reducer bushing to make it compatible with the 1/4"-type stud.

I needed a simple swivel ball head for a light on top of a light stand. This one is small simple and affordable. It does what I need.

Add a cold shoe and these are perfect for mounting a speedlite on a light stand with lots of flexibility to position and aim it.

These are so handy... I probably have too many because they are so nice. I will probably pick up another and so should you, lol.

Pretty good

I have dozens of ball heads floating around in my cases. Some are better than others. This one seems to hold the position better than most of the others. I'm not a bit fan of this solution. But, this one seems to do the job.

Flimsy Quality

You get what you pay for- Save money on an off-brand part like this, and get sub-par performance and quality. I've now learned my lesson to not skimp even on small accessories like this.

Solid value

Very solid hold at any angle with a speed ring and small soft box attached.

What would be the reasons for choosing this ball head over the similar Oben bd-02?
Asked by: Andrew
I have four of the BD-0. I haven't seen the BD-02 in person, but the description others have given ring true. I use the BD-0 for holding speedlights and small LEDs. The BD-0 is very similar to the BD-1 that is used on the TT-100 tabletop tripod (which I have). I'd agree with others that the BD-0 should work for a lightweight camera or DSLR with not-too-big lens. In my use, the BD-0 has been able to hold a good-sized speedlight like the Nikon SB-910 fitted with a light modifier such as a bounce card or "pocketbox", and to hold it firmly on a stand with the speedlight tipped over at an oblique angle to the stand. That's what I got it for, and it has worked well for that.

question

Can this be used, effectively, to mount an AX53 and Rode VideoMic Pro on a Selfie Stick? Can the ball head handle the weight? Can it be tightened properly?
Asked by: ali M.
The Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head has a maximum load capacity of 6.6 lbs. The Rode VideoMic Pro Compact Directional On-Camera Microphone only weighs 3 oz (0.19 lbs), so the Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head would easily handle the weight of the microphone. As the de VideoMic Pro Compact Directional On-Camera Microphone has a 3/8 -16 thread on the bottom for use on boom poles and audio equipment, you would also need to purchase the Oben 3/8 -16 to 1/4 -20 Reducer Bushing, B&H # OB1039, which would allow you to connect the microphone to the ball head.

question

Hi, I had Oben TT-100 table top mini tripod supplied with Oben BD-1, but recently I lost the ball head. But Oben BD-1 Ball head model is not available separately for sale. Now I want to purchase Oben BD-0 mini ball head. what is the difference between Oben BD-0 and Oben BD-1 model . Thanks
Asked by: Mallikarjunaiah
The main difference between the Oben BD-1 Mini Ball Head and the Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head is the load capacity; the Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head is stronger, supporting up to 6.6 lbs, while the Oben BD-1 only supported 4 lbs. The BD-0 is also lighter in weight. Otherwise, the two would be similar in size and performance.

question

Is the tightening screw just below the 1/4 -20 made of aluminum or plastic?
Asked by: Keith U.
The black plastic knob that is used to screw the 1/4 -20 thread into the camera is plastic.

question

Is the 3/8 insert removable to adapt to a standard light stand head? Looks like it, just wanna make sure
Asked by: Joe
Here's what I see on mine. With the insert in, it takes a 1/4 -20 thread, and with the insert out it takes a 3/8 -16 thread. That's as far as it goes. If standard light stand head is 5/8 then you would need some kind of an adapter down to 3/8 .
