The 2TB DriveStation DataVault HD-CXTU2 External Hard Drive from Buffalo is a USB 2.0 desktop hard drive that supports Full Disk Encryption (FDE) using powerful hardware-based 256-bit AES technology. Encrypting your data prevents unauthorized users from accessing it.
The drive is compatible with Windows systems. The included Buffalo Tools software supports advanced power management, 57% faster transfer rates via TurboPC, and Easy Logon via SecureLock.
The drive can be connected to a Mac, however the encryption feature will not function. Mac users will be able to use the disk as a standard external drive, or as a storage drive for the Time Machine backup solution.
