Easy enough replacement. Maybe watch a YouTube video or two first though. Wild drummers will crack these mics when placed on snare. I switched to snare mics with metal grills now like Heil pr22 and use my SM57 on guitar cabs mostly.

The RK244G addresses an issue that has plagued the Unidyne III family of microphones for decades, namely the grille coming off under rough handling. The kit is solid; however, Shure no longer provides alternate nameplate bands for other microphones such as the 545SD which use the same grill.
