will this clamp tighten on a pipe with a 1-3/4 OD ?
It fits snugly on the 2. Maybe if you put something in between so it does not wabble or tight a title bit more. Also, depends on what you are hanging.

How much weight does it support?
I bought this clamp to hold my Chauvet Qwash 560Z fixtures. They weigh approximately 20lbs. I am very comfortable with that. In my opinion they could support up to 100lbs safely however I would check Man. specs if I got close to that or more. I don't recall the limit that I read when I bought them.
