Photek SoftLighter 36" Reviews
Umbrella lighting to a new level
Umbrella lighting was always second to bank lighting when I worked in NYC. That's changed. The SoftLighter combines bounce and diffusion to perfection. At 36 it is easy to pack and set-up. The removable wands eliminate the worry and liability of eyes getting poked. I've added several of these to my daily packing.
hard to get installed on a Elinchrom D-lie RX 4 head
I bought thins thinking the 7mm part of the shaft would finally allow me to actually use the shaft mount through the Elinchrom head instead of the flimsy and awkward side mount. After much wrestling with the center sock, I was able to get things set up and the shaft does allow me to get just enough of the flash into the softlighter to be useful. It would be nice if more light modifiers offered their products with 7mm shafts
