Heavy and sturdy, but a few issues

This stand is solid, and quite heavy compared to light stands, almost to the point of overkill. Doesn't wobble when fully extended and holds vertical weight. I also appreciate the rounded legs on my hands when carrying instead of sharper square edges. A few issues I've had with this stand. (1) The stand got wet and is nearly impossible to get the water out. Days later and the poles still slide out wet, and brown water drips from the base. I tried repeatedly wiping it down, and blowing compressed air. (2) The top was 0.4mm too big for a light fitting. I get its a "microphone" stand, but would be great to make it compatible. (3) The screws can be hard to turn and would be better more as a bar or wing nut design instead of the circle-ish shape to get more leverage. For the price I would look at other options, but wouldn't avoid getting this again if I had to.

Rugged and heavy duty

This stand is a whopper, and can hold a lot of weight. It's big rubber feet and dual locking mechanism make sure all of your valuable equipment stays in place. I use it with a wide stereo bar and some pretty heavy omnis, so this was the perfect solution for ambient mic placement for large ensembles, organ, etc...

What is the length of the stand when collapsed - how long of a carry bag do I need?
Asked by: Eric
The minimum height of the K&M 20811 Overhead Microphone Stand (Black) is 70.8", so a bag with a length of 71" at a minimum would work.
