BG-N2 Battery Grip for Nikon D80/90 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 85.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this again! I purchased this for used on my Nikon D80 and it does exactly was it is supposed to do. I am very pleased with the quality of the construction. The command and sub-command dials; the AE-L/AF-L button; and the shutter release work exactly as they do on the camera body. The battery info menu shows both batteries with all information. The grip and extra batter add only 9.9oz. (281g.) to the camera weight. In the field, on a recent all-day shoot using lenses with vibration reduction, I did not have to worry about missing a shot while changing a battery. An excellent buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great... I recently purchased this battery grip for my Nikon D90 and I love it. Took it to a photography outdoor shoot in Michigan this past weekend and really liked how it made the camera body feel more balanced in my hands. Extra bonus is the cost is so much less than other brands and works just as well. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a battery grip for a Nikon D90.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is what it is, in a good way. It is what it is. I do like this grip. I smashed my first vertical grip, and did not want to put in a lot of money because I am looking to upgrade. I use use this on a D80 and can't say I have any problems. The grip does feel inexpressive, the door for the battery compartment feels thin and easy to break. The turn wheel on the grip are a little harder to turn then I feel they should be. Like I said I do like this grip, It feels good in my hand and well balance. It is lightweight, so I can easily hold it for long periods of time. I like what I spent my money on and it still allows me to upgrade when I can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice for the price This is a nice battery grip for the price. I'm an avid shutterbug and needed a little extra juice while out in the field. This product delivers. Easy to use and a nice tight fit between it and the camera--my camera feels great with it on, good grip and stable. It has a great feature that allows you to place the door from the battery compartment inside it so you don't have to worry about it getting lost. It also has the ability to attach to a tripod. Overall I am completely satisfied with this product and I know that my D-90 and I will have the oportunity to stay out longer without worrying the battery will die out. Don't give it a second thought, save some $$ and get this product!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Untitled I use a D80 and I smashed my first vertical grip, I am not very gentle with my gear. Due to my first experience, I chose not to spend the money on the Nikon version. I am looking to up grade soon also. I went with Vello's BG-N2, and can't say to would not do it again. It definitely feels inexperience. The door to the battery compartment feels thin. The grip feels good in my hands, and well balanced. The turn wheels on the grip do not turn as easy as I would like but are useable. All and all I do like the grip, I was able to get the grip that I wanted without spending the money towards an upgrade.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really Needed? PROS: it is exactly what you ordered. It will make your D70 - 90 look like a bigger camera. I know when I was starting out having equipment that looked pro made me feel better, so I would recommend this. CONS: Is it really needed? I thought it was so I ordered 2 for each of my D90s only to discover that the beauty of my D90s are that they are small and easy to handle. I thought I might need the vertical shoot button, but I didn't as I have no problem turning the camera on its side. And the extra battery power? Might prove useful, but I find it's far easier to keep a spare battery in my pocket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice products, competitive for the price Nice accessory. I occasionally shot portraits for many hours and my arm was really getting tired. This battery grip is the solution: no pain and more stable camera. Even carrying the camera facing down is easier grabbing the grip instead of the lateral grip. With one battery it adds only a bit of weight to my camera (D90). I don't care about the pro look. Nice to have backup battery using 6 standard AA. SURPRISE, not mentioned in the description: compartment to hold the battery door of the camera when you remove it. Plastic and rubber are feeling slightly cheaper than the camera ones, but still high quality. Back door lock looks a little bit cheap. Back door was jiggling, but I fixed with a tiny piece of tape to raise the closing edge (you cannot see that when the door is closed).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Will not work with 2 batteries in D90 After less than one year of use in my D90, the batter grip stopped working with 2 batteries. If I put 2 batteries in, it indicates that the batteries are dead and camera will not turn on. If I use just one battery, in either slot, camera turns on and reads 100% battery life. I have a total of 6 batteries and have tried all of them, so I know it's not a battery issue. It was great while it worked, but for a few $$ more, there are better options. This is one example where you get what you pay for.
