General Brand 67WIDUVP overview

  • 1Description

The Tiffen 67mm UV Protector Wide Angle Mount Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

This filter features a slimmer profile mounting ring, which is ideal for use with wide angle lenses. It does not have front filter threads for stacking filters.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Absorbs some ultraviolet light and reduces bluish cast of daylight.

67mm UV Protector Wide Angle Mount Filter is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent UV Filter I chose this UV filter to use on my Canon 18-135mm lens because I wanted something inexpensive, clear, and durable to protect my lens. After talking with a B&H rep, he confirmed that this would be a decent choice for my lens and budget, and the wide angle aspect would help prevent against vignetting. Although the filter has prevented vignetting, overall it's just a so-so filter. It does the job that I want it to do and the price is excellent, but the most annoying factor about this filter is that when it's screwed on to my lens, the lens cap won't fit on the lens anymore (yes, I know that technically the UV filter does the protecting so you don't really need to use the lens cap, but I feel more comfortable protecting my investment with the additional protection of a lens cap).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clear Glass I really enjoy this little filter. It's great for the wide angle zoom lens that I use it for, however there is only one con.. because it's made for a wide lens, the rim of the filter is not very thick, so the lens cap will not stay on at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tiffen oh Tiffen I use Nikkor lenses. My favorite brand filter seemed be cracking from the newly designed Nikon lens cap. Thus time to look at another brand. And I found Tiffen again. They make a reasonable filter at a cool price. If you really want 100 per cent transmission, just take the filter off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good but too thin This filter does its job. But it is so thin, so shallow that you can hardly put your lens cap on it. Outer thread is so shallow that you cannot attach firmly, for example, macrolite adapter Canon 67C. As I bought it for my new Canon EF 100mm Macro L IS USM, it was really the problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't hold the lens Cap !!!! Each time that I use my lens with this specific filter I can't stop cheking my lens cap because it snaps out so easely. I'm going to get a regular filter so I can stop worry about loosing my lens cap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tiffen 67 uv glassfilter It screws - fits easily and snugly on the lens. It does not interfere with the exposure of the image ie it does not cause any noticable loss of light. It is priced 'right'.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Strange Reflections Its common knowledge; the UV filters produce strange light reflections... but this filter produce a LOT of these! Better the problem than the solution.
