The PRX18S-XLF from JBL is a self-powered compact subwoofer that provides an extended bass response when combined with a PRX600 series loudspeaker. The subwoofer has an 18" Differential Drive neodymium driver housed in a cabinet that's similar in size to most 15" subwoofers. The driver is powered by a pair of 500W Class-D Crown amplifiers to provide a strong and efficient performance with low distortion.
The speaker has balanced XLR/TRS combo inputs, plus XLR loop-thru connectors. A polarity switch is provided for ensuring that the subwoofer is in phase with your PA speaker. The subwoofer also has a DSP input section with a dbx Type IV limiter circuit, crossover, dynamic limiting, component optimization, and a selectable system EQ.
The cabinet is constructed from plywood and has a durable Obsidian DuraFlex finish and 16-gauge dent-resistant powder-coated steel grille for a life of professional use. It also has a top panel M20 pole socket for mounting your loudspeaker on top of the subwoofer. Large glass-filled nylon handles ergonomic rubber grips are also provided for convenient and comfortable transportation.
