- Multiplexer / De-multiplexer
- Progressive Segmented Frame Video
- 24-bit AES Audio Processing
- Can Insert / Delete / Monitor AFD
With 24-bit AES audio processing, the SED-858 HD SD SDI Embedder/De-embedder performs simultaneous division or integration of the audio channels in the ancillary region of the HD-SDI or SD-SDI output signal. The analog inputs are received in pairs and converted into 4 AES streams that can be delayed up to 1 sec.
Embedded audio can be deleted, replaced, or transmitted, while channels of the matching group will be replaced, hence the first unit can embed 8 channels to group 1 and 2, and the second unit can embed the next 8 channels to group 3 and 4.
AFD (Active Format Description) data that carries information about the display characteristics of a signal can be monitored, inserted, deleted, or auto inserted. You can customize the AFD setting and the line number for insertion of the AFD data. It can auto detect HD-SDI and SD-SDI signals with full channel selection per HD or SD signal. Equipped with a built-in analog audio amplifier, it offers full control over the volume.
Non-audio ancillary data types in the input video can be displayed by their DID/SDID codes, and up to 4 types selected by the user can be removed from the output video. The 8 channel embed re-mixer provides mixing control over single channels. The setup features can be controlled by a rotary encoder and displayed on a VFD, while LED buttons indicate the unit's status. Four preset configurations are stored in flash memory. With two 25-pin male and one 25-pin female, the breakout cable provides AES and analog audio I/O.
