I like the idea of a protective cage. Does this cage include the hanger that attaches to the projector? How is that done? MOST IMPORTANT: Is there a way to adjust tilt, pan and yaw with fine detail?
The protective cage does not have the hanger for the projector. You have to purchase it separately since each projector is different. The adjustment for the projector is with the mount. good hunting

Does it only work on the Chief ceiling pole/pipe or other generic 1.5 inch pole? Does it require any other parts to install it?
The Chief PG3A Extra Large Projector Guard Security Cage (Black) BH #CHPG3A will work with any 1.5" NPT threaded pipe.

How long does the arm need to be for this cage?
The arm is a threaded 1.5 inch pipe. You can go as short as 2 safely. The threaded part of the mount is at the top of the cage.
