Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must have accessory for outdoor use! I feel this is a must have if you plan on using the H1 outdoors. I've used it to record an outdoor concert and for filming. It makes a world of difference. The mics on the H1 are excellent, but very sensitive. Speaking straight into the recorder at any less than 12 produces serious pop and peaking. Trying the same with the windscreen produced perfect results. I keep the windscreen on all the time now and I can trust that any audio I capture will be fine. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because it is a pain to get on and off. It also covers the record light and peak meter when it's on. Other than that, I highly recommend it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ESSENTIAL Piece of gear for your kit!!!! I've been testing this for a while now and have come up with pros and cons. PROS: Reduces wind noise to a minimum in IDEAL conditions (see CONS). Makes audio clear and audible, and makes external audio worth fiddling with. :) lol Fits Zoom H1 quite well. CONS: Doesn't reduce noise on highway (but who films with their camera sticking out of the car going 80 on the interstate??? lol). And the fur/fuzzy stuff can fall out sometimes in little strands, but as long as you don't pull on in hard it stays on the windscreen. So recap: Works great, but doesn't work if you are in wind conditions over 25-30MPH. Overall I love it and am satisfied with my investment. vimeo.com/michaelgoins

Rated 3 out of 5 by from less than moderate wind protection this wind screen provides some protection but hasn't performed quite as i'd hoped, in that the zoom h1 still registers wind noise when the screen is on in only light/medium winds. i found it nearly impossible to squeeze the screen over the zoom h1 on top of another foam cover as i have seen suggested, but even after i managed to do so i still get some wind noise in my recordings. there are times when i wish it were a bit more discreet, as well. interestingly, there's a word in the product name that can't be mentioned in this review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Windtech Windy Winner I use the MM-52 on my H1 on outdoor interviews. And although it kind of makes your H1 look a little Don King-ish, the sound quality is outstanding. I haven't had any wind noise in my interviews. It can be quite difficult and somewhat frustrating getting this thing on and off the H1; so I end up just leaving it on, which does protect the mics and makes the H1 easier to locate. All I need to do is look for that little plastic troll with Don King hair in my bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth Using Knocks the wind noise down much better than the foam one that comes in the HI accessory kit. It doesn't quite do the 20MPH wind as advertised but it works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from silent wind Being a documentary filmmaker involved with a number of projects each year, I am constantly faced with the situation of recording outdoors at a moments notice. Since we use the ZOOM H1 extensively in our work now, the MM-52 has become an indispensable accessory. It cuts out virtually all wind and extraneous hissing, humming and buzzing, leaving a crystal clear voice to go with the interview visuals.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from zoom h1 mic huff Does a good job of controlling wind noise (but you already know that if you watched any of the demos on Vimeo). The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was difficult to get on. The bell shape of the H1 and the elastic not being so stretchy ensures a tight fit, but I worried the entire time trying to put it on that I would break my H1. I'd prefer a simple pullstring tie!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crucial for the H1 I purchased the DSLR accessory kit when I picked up the Zoom H1. This windscreen is key for field work. Trust me.
