The Hewes 35mm Stainless Steel Developing Reel takes much of the stress out of darkroom work. It is both easy to load and will take much of the demands of the darkroom. It features an easy loading sprocket system that separates this reel from other similar, less expensive reels. The center spring clip holds your film firmly in place as you wind it on.
The product description and the response to a question of the B&H staff is very misleading. Unlike other reels from Hewes that have a larger center hole and have a comparable price from other vendors, this particular item is NOT compatible with the Patterson developing system. As shown on the photos, the reel does fit in the tank but not the light tight post. This means it cannot be used to develop in the dark. Don't waste your time! This steel reel will not
superb reels. definitely a splurge but totally worth it.
