The NEC MPD-DTI IPTV Tuner Module allows you broadcast HD signage content (up to 1080p) through the built-in expansion slot of NEC's large-format LCD displays (S, P and X Series). Ideal for use in corporate buildings, public information centers, and airports, the IPTV Tuner Module can stream data stored in the server for display at different locations via digital signage players.
With the tuner card, administrators can easily set up an IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) network through unicast or multicast infrastructure that offers programming via encoded video stream. In addition to supporting video and audio decoding formats such as MPEG-2, H.264/AVC, and WMA, the tuner is also compatible with ATSC, NTSC, and clear QAM broadcast signals, NEC monitors including S401, S461, S521, P401, P461, P521, P701, X461UN, and X461UB as well as unicast RTP and multicast RTP.
MTS (Multichannel Television Sound) allows for encoding of 3 channels of audio in a standard NTSC (analog) video signal or stereo sound to television, while SAP (Second Audio Program) provides an additional audio channel for a second language. Autoscan function skims through the whole system and identifies available ATSC/NTSC channels pending the source (air or cable), while the visual meter measures channel strength. The MPD-DTI IPTV Tuner Module also offers closed captioning that allows you to customize the color, font, size, and style of the text on display.
You can statically assign an IP address to the tuner module or have the IP address automatically assigned without the intervention of a network administrator via the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). With RJ-45 Ethernet port, composite AV out, and USB, you can update the tuner's firmware, while the remote control and on-screen display ensure easy operation. Adjustable parental controls and locks allow you to secure the programming.
