    PreSonus HD7 reviews

HD7 Professional On-Ear Monitoring Headphones is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like 'em PreSonus is definitely a company's products to look at now.....they've become a player. The B&H price was the lowest on-line price that I saw, which made it even more enticing. These phones compare most favorably with ones costing more than twice as much. As in one review I read, it is best to break these in for at least 24 hours, using pink noise or some full-frequency sweep recordings....I used the 5th Element sound track on repeat.Light and comfortable, a very good buy, with very good response. They are considered semi-open, but in all but the most critical recording environment, bleed through into your vocal mike is minimal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big Surprise I work as an AV Engineer for a System Integrator and I also am a percussionist. My ears are my life and I do a ton of mixing and listening to music. I am always curious of headphones and I have always stuck with the good ole standards (i.e. Sony 7506, AKG, Beyer, AT, etc). Recently I saw these and I knew I needed a pair for my office. I purchased them and when they arrived I listened to my band through them. I was impressed that nothing jumped out as being bad. Pretty much everything sounded good. They have great low end for being an open phone. The only thing that stood out to me after listening through them for a couple of songs was they can be a little harsh in the higher frequencies but that is the only reason. I think they are a fantastic entry level headphone for an up and coming engineer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable Good Sound I'm using it with my home studio - Presonus Firestudio Mobile, Logic Pro 9, Mac Pro. I got them because I do a lot of work late at night and don't want to disturb others. The headphones are very comfortable. The sound quality is good, although I would still use actual monitors to do a final mix. The cable is a nice length, not too long or short. I ran into two problems when I got them. First is they had a very strong smell which was making me sick. I had to put them in the basement for several days to let them air out. The cushion cover was falling off the one side, and I had to spend some time getting it back on (it was a little tricky). Now that I have that worked out, everything seems to be fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality for the price! I am 20yo and an aspiring sound producer. I listen to a vast amount of music and just about everything I can find to play on these headphones. From usage in my studio projects to simple leisurely activities (games, music) these headphones are very strong assets. There is excellent outside noise rejection and cancellation once you start playing something. You'd have to wave your hands or cause a tremor in the room to let me know you're trying to get my attention. These headphones are powerful and comfortable, and I love to use them for absolutely everything I am able to use headphones to listen to. It even came with a handy PreSonus draw-sack, although the drawstrings quickly broke within a month or less of day-to-day usage. The only drawbacks for me were: (1.) the result of an accident that occurred where the headphones were plugged into a laptop and the laptop got knocked over onto the side of the audio jack, bending into and ruining my laptop's audio jack input, as well as the headphone's jack. The fall was less than two feet off the ground yet the impact was large enough to cause such damage. (2.) The cord is way too long for my style of usage when not in my studio. I find myself having to coil the string up in my pocket whenever I'm mobile. However, that's clearly not the type of usage it was intended for when it was made. Personal mishaps and usage habits aside, these headphones are awesome, and are an excellent buy for the asking price.
