Very simple, very solid.

I wanted the extra control that two pan bars offer, and also wanted to try out remote controllers on two pan bars to see if I could simulate some of the control of a studio camera set up with my Panny 160A. The idea was to use one controller for zoom on one bar, and the other controller for focus and exposure on the other pan bar. The reason for two controllers is the lesser expensive one from VariZoom didn't have the fine control on zoom I wanted, and it was too late to return it, so I kept it. Then, I bought the better remote controller from VariZoom for better zoom control, so now I have two remotes. Whether two remotes works out remains to be seen over time, but two pan bars is a keeper idea in any case. There's no point in complaining about the high price for a simple pan bar, because my Vinten Vision Blue system is a superior product, hands down, for the price. Nothing else comes close in my opinion. So, for better control, I realized I had no choice but to buy this pan bar for the price listed. Nowhere else offered the item for less money, so there you go. Once you're in to the Vinten line, there's no real easy way to get out of it because most of the product line is not interchangeable with other brands, such as QRPs, bars and threaded items. Also, my sense is that Vinten is a bit aloof with us wanna-be videographers, concentrating on the high end commercial pro market. Anyway, I'm pleased with the sticks and now I have two pan bars, so that's all there is to it.
