The Edirol / Roland V-1600HD Multi-Format Video Switcher is an all-in-one multi-channel switcher with a built-in monitor, scalers, and multi-format inputs and outputs. Ideal for live video production, the switcher has 16 inputs for connecting to HD/SD-SDI, DVI-D/HDMI, RGB, Component, S-Video, and composite formats. It comes with 14 mixing channels and allows you to effortlessly mix and output various video sources such as cameras, VTRs, RGB computer sources, Blu-ray/DVD, and high-end SD/HD-SDI video sources without external converters.
With the included HD/SD SDI input for professional video equipment and DVI-D, the switcher directly connects to PC/Mac. You can output digital/analog HD resolution even while down-converting.
The Multi-Format Video Switcher offers various multi-screen solutions such as independent outputs, multi-screen with edge-blending, dual mode, and split mode. One video input can be daisy-chained to multiple inputs using the thru out connectors. The scaler for each input can be zoomed to any position in the video image. With the built-in monitor, you can preview each video source when external monitors are not available or ideal.
With 64 (8 x 8) memory banks, the switcher can store and instantly recall setup parameters. It has the intuitive operating ability to control DSK (Downstream Keyer), key composition, and PiP.

- Supports HD/SD-SDI, DVI-D/HDMI, RGB, Component, S-Video, still images, and composite formats
- Ideal for live video production
- HD/SD-SDI input x 8 - automatically identifies HD-SDI and SD-SDI; enables you to choose letterbox, crop or fill options if output setup and aspect ratios are different from input
- DVI-D/HDMI input x 2 - supports 4 DVI-D inputs; HDMI signal can be input using HDMI to DVI adaptor
- RGB/COMPONENT input x 4 - equipped with 4 D-Sub 15-pin connectors for analog RGB input and 2 switchable component connectors
- SD input x 2 - composite input (BNC type) and S-Video (Y/C)
- SDI output x 2 - supports HD-SDI or SD-SDI output formats
- DVI-D/HDMI output x 2 - allows you to connect a projector or monitor that supports a digital connection and HDMI output using an HDMI to DVI-D adaptor
- RGB/COMPONENT output x 2 - PC monitor or Projector can be connected from analog RGB or component connector
- SD output x 2 - with the built-in scaler, the switcher enables SD video to be output from the AUX bus
- Event production - you can effortlessly mix and output various video sources such as cameras, VTRs, RGB computer sources, Blu-ray/DVD, and high-end SD/HD-SDI video sources without external converters
- Aux mode - allows you to set the output at different resolution, making the switcher ideal for sending the program out to a record feed
- Studio production - allows you to composite text/graphics from a PC/Mac on background video content; HD output is available for monitoring, live streaming as well as for display, recording, or broadcasting
- Independent outputs
- Multi-screen with edge blending - can display a single image on 2 screens with edge blend function for seamless image
- Dual mode - allows you to individually switch 2 video inputs simultaneously and also lets you preview each video source
- Split mode - allows you to display 2 video inputs on a single screen; suitable for comparing the videos on the same screen
- One video input can be daisy-chained to multiple inputs using the thru out connectors. The scaler for each input can be zoomed to any position in the video image.
- With preview ability for each video source when external monitors are not available or ideal
- For easy operation, menu functions and parameters can be on the built-in screen and monitor sources can be selected from PGM (Program), PVM (Preview), and AUX (Auxiliary) bus
- PiP - Allows you to combine 2 images in 1 video image
- Key composition - you can combine Chroma/Luminance key and semi-translucent composition using Linear key
- DSK (Downstream Keyer) - allows for compositing by combining visual elements from separate sources into a single image. This involves the replacement of selected parts of an image with other material, usually, but not always, from another image
- Various transition effects - supports Dissolves, NAM (Non-Additive Mix), FAM (Full Additive Mix) mixing type, and 4 types of wipe patterns. The NAM transition allows you to compare 2 images and displays pixel with high brightness levels while switching the images wherein the FAM transition offers images with the luminance level held steady
