Slik PRO 623 CF overview

  • 1Description

The Slik Pro 723 CF 3-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod is a lightweight yet tall set of legs for camcorders and DSLR cameras equipped with standard zooms or telephoto lenses. The Pro 723 CF reaches a maximum height of 65.4" and supports loads up to 11 lb, yet weighs a mere 3.1 lb.

The three leg sections are secured and freed by way of twist locks. Because the legs are non-rotating, you can unlock both of a leg's stages at once by twisting the two large rubber grips with one hand. This enables fast setup of the Pro 723 CF tripod.

The rapid center column is removable as well as reversible for extreme low-angle shooting with an inverted camera. At the bottom of the center column is a metal hook for hanging a counterweight for additional stability for uneven loads or for windy conditions.

Neoprene grips on all three legs
Rubber feet
Legs can be set and locked at three angles - independently of each other

    Slik PRO 623 CF reviews

Pro 723 CF 3-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY!! Not a regular head screw! this is a smaller than normal screw on the top, which will not mount a regular head, even if you got an adapter, it would still not work right with a video head or some other types locking heads. do not get it if you already have a head to use. i gave it 2 stars because when i opened it to check it, it was obviously well constructed, and felt solid and sturdy. Thankfully B+H returns is good because i wouldnt have been able to use this tripod with my Manfrotto head, you need to buy a SLIK head to be able to use this tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great set of CF legs! I have several Slik products so I bought this with confidence. I was looking for a full size carbon fiber set of legs to take hiking and these work perfectly. Weight is relatively light compared to my set of Slik 500 AMT legs, and the stability is way above any compact travel tripod. I opted for the 3 section legs for even more stability and a larger 1st segment (I don't care for spindly leg tripods). I also chose the twist lock legs for a more streamlined package and less bulk. The twists are very positive and have a high quality feel to them. I coupled this set of legs with a Sirui K20x head for a perfect combo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I have been wanting a carbon fiber tripod for quite sometime. Our niece got married the week before Mother's Day, and she wanted me to do the church photos.my exposure to photographing people is a few candid street scenes at Puck Fair in Ireland. I don't do people. I used the new tripod,a Canon 5D MkII, and a 17-40 Canon zoom. The results were very good. The tripod is rock solid. Getting back into my comfort zone, I captured a Pennsylvania squirrel, a mountain bluebird, a nuthatch, and a downy woodpecker. Again the tripod was rock solid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it. This was a replacement travel tripod. It's lightweight sturdy and easy to use. The tripod fits into my checked baggage without weighing down the luggage. It's also light enough to carry attached to a backpack. The only drawback is the 1/4-20 head attaching screw. All my triod heads use the 3/8-16 screw. I have to keep some thread adapters in my camera bag. They easly get lost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, Solid Tripod Using the tripod to support my spotting scope, I found it solid even in 15 - 20 mph, steady winds. I am 6' 3, have an angled eye piece scope and find this particular height of tripod perfect. IT IS NOT a tripod that I'd advise less tall folk buy unless maybe they were to use a straight eyepiece spotting scope. The twist lock mechanisms are sound and I find them easy to use. I do not notice it's weight at all, it is light and comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly What I Wanted I wanted to buy a carbon fiber tripod for several years, and now I finally have one. This particular tripod is light for its size, and it seems to be rigid enough for general use. The twist lock legs work easily, smoothly, and securely, and they also spread open to three different positions, allowing me to get very close to the ground (with the bottom of the center column removed) with my camera mounted on it. If I want to get even closer, the center column can be removed and inserted upside down. My older SLIK aluminum tripod served me well for many years, but it had its limitations. For instance, the legs opened to just one position, and the tripod was not tall enough to keep me from having to bend over every time that I wanted to look through my camera's viewfinder. The new tripod, with the legs fully extended, holds the camera at eye level for me without raising the center column. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that this tripod came with a carry case, because I didn't see anything about that in its specifications.
