The J L Cooper Eclipse MX Midnight Stand-alone 8 Channel Expander / Controller (Black) is an 8-channel fader audio and expander unit. This tactile desktop audio control surface provides users with hardware control and real-time audio mixing in Apple Final Cut Studio, Soundtrack Pro, Logic Pro, and other similar MIDI/audio-editing software. For increased efficiency during workflow, the controller interface of the Eclipse MX Midnight SA consists of high-quality hardware controls and eliminates the need for a keyboard and mouse combination, thereby allowing users to optimize the available space in their editing suites.
Featuring 8 touch-sensitive, motorized fader switches, 32 switches and a built-in MIDI I/O, the Eclipse MX Midnight SA allows operators to quickly mix and refine multiple audio channels at a time. Each motorized fader switch is equipped with Mute, Solo, AUX and Select buttons, which are illuminated with white LED indicators for easy visibility.
Designed to minimize operator fatigue, this controller comes with precise and high-resolution motorized controls, low-intensity white colored LEDs, and an ergonomic user interface. In addition, the Eclipse MX Midnight SA sports robust software, and the smart software driver allows users to effortlessly switch between applications running in the foreground and background, while remaining compatible with Mac OS and other software environments.
While the Eclipse MX Midnight SA (or Stand-alone version) can be used as an add-on expansion option for the Eclipse SX or CS Midnight, it can also be operated as a stand-alone unit for custom applications by using compact Ethernet, USB, RS-232, or RS-422 interface cards. Users can choose the interface depending on the hardware and software combination involved. These interface cards that can be installed directly into the Eclipse MX Midnight SA. DIP switches ensure that setting up the device for use as an expander unit or stand-alone unit is simple.
The small footprint of the device, black metallic finish, and brushed aluminum end caps make it a cosmetic match with the rest of the Eclipse Midnight series while lending a professional touch to an editing studio.
