    veho VCC-003 reviews

VCC-003-MUVI-PRO Muvi Pro Micro DV Action Camcorder is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice piece of equipment I work in Law Enforcement and the Muvi Pro Micro has been great to have. It's durable, clips onto the front of my shirt or my belt and the picture and audio is excellent. It's plug and play to my in-car computer and downloads very easy. A very useful tool to have. The download from a full camera to a DVD is a little long. About 50 minutes on my computer, but it's not difficult. I wish the battery life were longer, but you can recharge it off the in car computer. Lasts for about 3 hours of continuous usage. Also, if it's night time you have to have outside illumination (flashlight, spotlight, headlights) to have the camera pick up anything, but audio is very nice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK - but see Pro's and Con's in my comme I would buy it again. Pro's = tiny and smaller than your pinky = video quality is acceptable under decent lighting = records video anywhere from under 1 minute to over 5 minutes = works on a usb rechargeable batter (no wires needed) Con's = No night vision or low light = Sound recording has a constant noisy background noise although you can still hear what is being recorded = Fixed position for the lens, focus not adjustable, records on a Micro SD drive only so no real time monitoring and no remote (nothing to adjust) I would buy again for good light recording and when con's above are unimportant

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible technical support from Veho This camera worked great for about ten months and then it deveoped a problem where it would just spontaneously stop recording without me touching any buttons or bumping the camera in any way. I opened up a technical support call with Veho and received a confirmation email telling me I would receive a response in 48 hours. Nine days later...nothing. I opened up another call on Veho's web site and this time I did receive an email from technical support which asked me one question. I immediately answered and waited for a follow up email. Again another nine days went by with no answer. I sent another email to the same address and again I have gotten no response. One should also be aware that there is no mention of any kind of warranty on the box or in the manual.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from OVERHEATED Received, open package, and read instructions, charged by USB cable from computer. Put in pocket, and started driving to Daughters ski training, thinking great chance to try it out. On way in major snow storm on express way, felt camera getting hot in my pocket. Few moments later was extreamly hot, and getting hotter by the second. IN SNOW STORM WITH POOR VISABILITY ON EXPRESS WAY (((I COULD NOT PULL OVER WITHOUT RISKING REAR END COLLISION))) could not risk fire in car let alone pocket. TOOK IT OUT OF POCKET< ALMOST HAD LEG BURN AND NOW HAND BURN. OPENED WINDOW AND THREW IT OUT. Thank the lord for snow storm, no risk of starting forest fire.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great mini dv camera This is a great video camera. It is very inexpensive but doesn't feel cheap when you're using it. The video quality is great and captures wide views for larger areas. It has simple controls, which I like. I like taking this camera on backpacking and camping trips when I don't want to deal with the size and weight of a large camera. The camera is very user friendly and it's easy to download videos to any computer with a usb port (no confusing software to deal with). Sure, you can get a web-cam for a little cheaper, but not with the accessories this one comes with. I highly recommend this camera, but this version does not have still photo capabilities. I will probably buy the Veho VCC-004 which does have still photo capabilites. Other than that, this is a GREAT buy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great For PI Work / Poor Audio 3 Stars because of poor audio I am a private investigator. The size and LOW LUX rating of 1.0 is why I decided to give it a try. I used one in a Strip Club and although it was too dark to use as-is I was able to salvage it in Sony Vegas Pro 10 by tweaking the GAMA. I have used other covert sub $25.00 cams and the exposure was non-existent. Picture quality is acceptable in court, or should I say Good Enough. The build is metal and like a tank and can be easily hung with Velcro. There is a blinking light at the top that one needs to thumb or cover with tape according to the application. Transfer over USB is kind of slow so if you have a faster card reader you have it made. The audio is very harsh but usable somewhat and we normally dub it out anyway.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pros and Cons I only briefly tested this product because I decided to return it. The static sounds in the audio were unbearable to me. Although the size of the camera is tiny and can be well-suited for many purposes, do not buy this if sound quality is more important than video quality to you. The video was decent for such a tiny camera (but not good in low light) and is certainly acceptable when carrying a normal-sized camera is not an option. But since I was mainly interested in the audio, I would probably be better off buying a mini recorder. If this product's sound is improved in future models, I would definitely try it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No Bad for the price Actually this camera is not bad for certain uses if you need high quality image not will have and if you have light variations will also have problems, the sound is relatively acceptable only drawback that I see is when you play the video when using full screen Forget it quality is disastrous but using a median display a girl could give very good results. It is very easy to use and the battery is good. Maybe you have is good size for small places you do not want them to know that this filming recommend it for the price. very economical and decent.
