Logitech M705 reviews

M705 Marathon Mouse is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great compact mouse Logitech makes the best mice in the world and this one doesn't dissapoint. I've always use their products and have never experience any problems. The mouse is compact enough to be carried along with a laptop. Is very comfortable to hold and the buttons feel natural. The wireless receiver is a great idea since you never have to disconnect it from your laptop. You can barely tell is attached to your computer The only drawback here is that if you lack sufficient USB ports you may not like the idea of this receiver occupying one of them. Overall great mouse, very responsive and well put together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good deal I use this product for work and so far so good! The click is loud but I am already used to it. I like all of the buttons - back browser, forward browser, program switching. This was a nice replacement for an aging Logitech mouse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO GOOD MOUSE I USED MANY KINDES OF WIRELESS MOUSE, AND THIS ONE MAYBE THE BEST WHAT I TRIED. VERY COMPORTABLE AND FUNCTIONAL.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weak Contacts On Mouse Clicks Left mouse clicks are very weak making it dificult to perform a single click. It's as if the contact travel isn't far enough. You expect that you will have to press the key harder but instead it makes contact when you barely touch it. The same applies for the two side buttons on the left hand side of the mouse. It's difficult to tell whether or not you've actually pressed a button. I'm a computer tech for a living and I use hundreds of different mice on a regular basis. This is the worst mice I've used for tacticle feedback.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Potential, Fatal Flaw I've been using this mouse for a video editing project. I previously used the MX mouse, which is a bit larger, with a few more features, but has dismal battery life. So I decided to try the Marathon. Ergonomically I have no complaints. The mouse feels good, and I really love the buttons and scroll wheel on the Logitech mouses, all very customizable. The response time with the USB dongle (wonderfully tiny) is excellent. BUT, there is a fatal flaw with this mouse that I cannot get over. The sensor/laser is located on the far right of the mouse's bottom, very different from any other mouse I've used. For someone who does a lot of very fine detailed movement with a mouse (editors, motion graphics, designers, etc) this creates a very weird sensation. The way I'm used to making micro movements on a mouse, where I use primarily my thumb and index finger to make fine movements, is rendered useless - that type of small movement on this mouse often uses that outside point (where the laser is located) as the fulcrum, i.e. the sensor doesn't move and so your cursor doesn't move. Instead you have to move the WHOLE mouse with your hand, which is much more tiring after a long editing session. I've found it impossible to do any kind of fine detailed editing. Going to finish editing this project, but I'll likely return this mouse afterwards for a better product. A shame, because otherwise it has great potential.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, if you don't click with the wheel The overall size mouse and positioning of the buttons is great. I especially love the hidden button on the the thumb(right-handed user) grip. The nano receiver is very inconspicuous and although I don't use it on a Laptop or notebook/netbook, I'm sure it wouldn't cause too much a problem leaving it plugged in when the laptop is put-away. I constantly use the Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc..) and I love the accuracy of the mouse laser. Plus, it really does track on most surfaces fairly well. My only gripe with this mouse is the scroll wheel. The wheel has scroll and click and capability as well as left and right tilt-click (programmable to many different options) as many mice do. The problem is that the left and right tilt-click are very sensitive and are when trying to scroll wheel-click, more times than not I click one of the tilt-click options. You have to really concentrate on clicking straight down on the scroll wheel to accurately scroll-click. This is a big issue for me in two fields: 1. Web browsing - I constantly scroll-click on links to open them in a new tab instead of in the current window. I've done this for years and hate that now I have to either right-click the link and select Open in new tab or hold the ctrl button while clicking. 2. 3D Modeling Programs - I use many 3D programs for work. In many of these programs the scroll-click button is used constantly for panning, zooming, changing perspective, as well as other features. Once again I have to really concentrate on clicking straight down on the wheel to use these features. - In conclusion: If you don't plan on using this mouse for the scroll-click feature, then it is a great mouse. If you are, look elsewhere as this will drive you insane.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Noisy scroll wheel , but otherwise great I replaced my Apple Magic Mouse with this one because the Apple product doesn't work that well on a lot of surfaces. This replacement is a great wireless mouse that works on all kinds of surfaces and is very ergonomic. There's one small complaint I have about this mousethe scroll wheel is noisy. I just ordered a Logitech trackball mouse which will be perfectly quite. I can still use the noisy mouse at another location where the noisy scrolling doesn't matter that much. Other than that it's been a great mouse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelent mouse going for another one Im using this mouse with mac and is great, just intall the software for personalization from logitech and you can tweak evreyone of the buttons on this one. The size is ok i prefer something more big but that one, the mx, is too much money for me. Im already thinking on ordering a second one for travel with my macbook a leaving the other one at home with the imac. Very pleased with this purchased.I set the hidden button on the thumbpad to expose all my windows so i can move faster between apps and documents
