The Veracity DRIVEPROOF Mobile DVR is a single channel CCTV video recorder specifically designed for use inside a vehicle. This solid state recorder uses standard CF cards for storage and can withstand significant shock and vibration. Unlike hard disk based recorders, this recorder doesn't have a hard drive, cooling fans, or any other moving parts that can be adversely affected by the motion of the vehicle. There's also no operating system, and all of its software programs are burned into solid state memory.
Recording automatically activates within 20 seconds of vehicle start-up and continues uninterrupted until the vehicle is turned off. Video is recorded using the quality JPEG2000 file format and can be adjusted from a high compression rate of 2KB to a low compression rate of 32KB. When used with a 32GB CF card, this device can record over 400 hours of full-frame resolution video (720 x 576) at 1 fps.
Recorded images can be reviewed by transferring the CF card to a PC or by connecting the DVR directly to a video monitor and PC keyboard. Included with this recorder is a comprehensive software program that can be used to play back, duplicate, archive, or burn images to a CD or DVD. Video playback is possible in full-frame or single field mode, and there's also the ability to review event history and recording times.
The CF card on this unit can be removed at any time and replaced with another card without the need to first power down the unit. The new card will be automatically formatted by the system without requiring any intervention on the part of the user. This DVR is powered by a separate 12V or 24V DC to DC power supply which is designed to filter out power supply noise caused by the vehicle's electrical system.
