vinyl seemed to die off for years but my collection kept the turntable going. i wanted a back up headshell for my turntable and found this one for a good price. I shopped around and thankful for B&H. Works fine.
When I decided to start collecting 78 RPM records, I considered Many Cartridge/Stylus combinations to play them with before I decided on the Shure M78S. I wanted the Most Bang for my Buck and the Shure M78S did not Disappoint! I was New to the 78 RPM scene and though I considered more expensive models I wanted to get my Feet Wet a little at a time! This IS definitely a Great way to start, as I continue to explore 78's I may Upgrade to a more expensive quality model, feeling assured it will be worth it. For now, I am more than Pleased with the Shure M78S, it Reproduces the sound in the Grooves so much better than I anticipated. My 78's sound GREAT! It's a No Brainer, Get the Shure M78S cartridge and stylus NOW!!!
