Incorporating 3 filters, namely, the BCC Smooth Tone filter, BCC Pixel Fixer filter, and DV Fixer filter, the Continuum Image Restoration Unit compensates for losses occurring during image capture, thereby undoing the discrepancies and reconstructing a true-detail image.
Providing image softening while preserving the detailed contrast aspects of an image, the BCC Smooth Tone filter applies an advanced smoothing-algorithm to blend unwanted highlights in an image. Simulating electronic makeup, the Smooth Tone filter is ideal for video footage such as on-camera interviews.
Eliminating pixel problems from digital video or still photography images, the BCC Pixel Fixer filter repairs bad pixels in the image resulting from dust accumulation on the camera lens or imaging sensor. To reduce the efforts required for removing bad pixels in each frame, the BCC Pixel Fixer provides source points to remove up to 10 bad pixels per filter instance, while preserving image sharpness and clarity.
Annoying jagged lines (jaggies) found in DV image clips can be reduced or eliminated using the DV Fixer filter. In addition, DV consumer artifacts can also be reduced while still protecting other areas of the image from softening. Integrated proprietary algorithms offer detection and processing of pixels along the aliased diagonal images, rendering a smooth, artifact-free result.
