The Boris FX Continuum Complete 5 for Autodesk Systems is a BCC V5 Sparks unit that is customized to allow Autodesk Discreet System users to optimize Linux (or Irix) based compositing and finishing system outputs. Over 145 special effect plug-ins (sparks) allow you to render clean effects such as volumetric lighting, lens flares, glint, depth blurring, 3D geometric shapes, film effects, bump mapping, glows, fast and easy keying, and optical-flow-based time warping.
You can apply natural effects such as snow, fire, caustics, and clouds as well as fully automated organic wipe transitions. Re-synthesis of completely new frames in relation to the movement of pixels between frames is offered via the optical-flow-based motion key feature. An optical stabilizer integrated in the BCC V5 Sparks renders smooth images, thereby avoiding blurred images that result from frame blending processes.
You can select an optional clip input to matte out and restrict the effect to a specific part of the image. A unique built-in masking system called Pixelchooser includes horizontal and vertical masking and blending as well as gradients and shapes for containing the effect to a square or oval area within the image. Using the built-in Motion Tracker, you can control the position of the Pixelchooser mask or matte or the light source.
Multi-resolution support ensures the retention of high-level color information after import. All BCC filters support 8-bit or 16-bit color processing. Using the BCC V5 Sparks unit, you can access built-in electronic help files for each filter with a single click. An integrated preset load and save mechanism allows you to access user-customizable, factory-built preset effect setups that are installed in the unit.
