  • 1Description

The 8GB Bloggie is the highest capacity pocket cam offering from the famed electronics company for 2010. And much like its 4GB sibling, the 8GB offers up a number of features.

The 8GB Bloggie Touch records up to 4 hours of high def video to its internal flash memory. But, in addition to recording HD video, the Bloggie as does double duty as a 12.8MP digital still camera. No matter which format you go with though, still or video, the camera utilizes a generous 3" touch screen, which rotates automatically, for composition and review of your files.

Diverging somewhat from an ultra-simple operation concept, the Bloggie Touch employees a couple features normally found on more feature-heavy consumer camcorders: SteadyShot image stabilization and face detection. Other useful features include 4x digital zoom and macro shooting, the ability to tag videos and stills for uploading to social networking sites, and a built-in rechargeable battery that can be powered back up via USB.

When you're done shooting, and ready to share what you've shot, the Bloggie Touch just needs to be connected to your compatible PC via the flip-out USB arm. The pre-loaded software automatically starts up once the camera is connected, allowing you to edit and share your videos and photos with ease. When you feel like sharing what you've shot in the big screen, just connect the Bloggie to your HDTV via the HDMI.

    Sony MHS-TS20 Reviews

MHS-TS20 8GB Bloggie Touch Camera (Black) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 152.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wow! I wasn't prepared for this. I bought this camera for my Costa Rica trip and assumed the obvious based on a lot of past video camera experience. #1 - the entire trip I held the camera upright. All my video from that trip plays back in the middle third of my TV. Not full screen. I didn't realize you should hold the camera horizontally. #2 - there's no view finder. I'm in Costa Rica with the sun behind me. I couldn't see the video screen with the best of vision. So, my video's of Howler monkeys had no monkeys in them. I couldn't see them on the screen. So all I had was the sound of monkeys. I gave this camera to my kids. Never again will I buy a video camera without a view finder.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does NOT record more than 30 min int Quality is decent BUT there is nothing in the literature OR website (this one or manufacturers) about the MP4 limitations on size of recording. Turns out it is 2G which is only about 30 min at the recommended resolution. On the manufacturers website, one highlighted problem in the Troubleshooting section is: The camera will not continue recording a movie even though the memory capacity is not full. Answer: The above MP4 limitations. This is normal operation. You also can't burn to DVD unless you have a third party MP4 conversion and DVD burn software. It does have the HDMI output so if your TV has the HDMI input you are golden, but pretty much this camera is just for web videos and nothing else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slim, easy to use, great output!! Super easy to use. Slim, easy to hold, with a large screen. Great for quick grab videos and photos. The software uploads directly from the Bloggie to any computer to allow upload. Video and photos are a high quality for a lens so tiny. A bonus is that you can upload to specific folders you create on personal space on Sony's website and send e-mail to people you want to view each folder. There is no need to create a page of your own somewhere else or post to more public sites.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap Video/Still Camera... Easy to use This camera has great video and stills for it's size. The built in memory is enough to shoot about a days worth of footage and photos. The quick USB connection is quick for off loading on the go. I wish the sensitivity of the touch screen could be controlled. Takes a little bit of getting use to with the touch screen, but does what it's suppose to. For the price of the camera I think this does an excellent job. Easy to use. An average person could figure this camera out in a short amount of time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bloggie Touch VS iPhone 4 VS 5D Mark II So I bought the Bloggie Touch after much deliberation. The price was excellent at B&H so I finally got it.I compared it with my iPhone 4 (not 4S), and my 5D Mark II.Of course the comparison to the 5D is ridiculous, given that the 5D costs aprox. $ more than the Bloggie. Here's the deal:- The Bloggie shoots better video than the iPhone. It has a slightly wider field of view. The colors are slightly nicer on the Bloggie. It has way better sound than that of the iPhone. It's image stabilization is better than the iPhones (which has none)So its worth using the bloggie. You have to give it a little time to find its focus though. Now compared to the 5D Mark II, its a different story. The optics on the 5D blow the sony away. (They should for what they cost.)The clarity on the 5D is breathtaking, when you get the focus correct, (Which is very difficult to do at times)So yes, the 5D is better if you don't mind spending several thousands of dollars and lugging around a very large object to do your shooting. For its price, the Bloggie is a good camera.Lots of the nay sayers in these reviews are just bad shooters. You have to work with the cameras limitations. Its fine!(Like the comments about scratchy noise when recording... Then don't move your fingers across the camera body when you are shooting. Duh.)Hope this helps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and Meet the Expectation What I like about this Sony Bloggie is the friendly user interface. Very simple operation, just need 3 seconds to boot up from a complete off. Another thing that I like is we can capture a picture while we're taking a shot/video. But the still image quality is not too good when we capture using this mode. If you want to have better quality, better to take the picture while not in the video recording mode. for $US , the value for money is good. However, auto focus was little slow to respond. One thing that might help is press the shutter button during taking a video. This will help a little bit. This camcorder does not come with flash, so it will give poor image quality on low light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient and cheap HD camera! For what it's meant to be, I give it 5 stars. I use this camera to film short lectures about music theory and performance. For stationary filming, it works great. I don't care for the audio. So, I use a separate dual-diaphragm microphone to record my audio. Then, I layer it over the film from this camera. Great, sharp picture. But in low light, the picture is grainy and dark.
