The SP C231SF boasts a standard 251 sheet capacity that is expandable up to 751 sheets with optional paper trays. The 128MB of RAM memory, 400MHz CPU, wide OS compatibility range, and printer languages and fonts all work together to help keep the workflow smooth and efficient.
The printer features a 21 page-per-minute print speed for both color and B/W documents and resolutions up to 2400 x 600 dpi. Paper sizes up to 8.5 x 14" are compatible with the machine; and alternative media such as envelopes, labels, and thick papers can all be used in the standard and bypass trays. Using Ricoh's Web Image Manager utility and Presto PageManager software document management tasks and machine statistics can be monitored remotely.
The scanner provides full-color and B/W scanning with 1,200 x 1,200 dpi resolution. Using the auto document feeder sheets up to 8.5 x 14" can be scanned. Additional features includes TWAIN/WIA, scan-to-email, scan-to-FTP, and scan-to-folder, among others.
The copier aspect of the C231SF produces both color and B/W copies, with a print speed of 21 copies-per-minute for multiple copies of a single page document. When it comes to a single copy of multiple page documents the copier produces 20 cpm for B/W, and 10 cpm for color. Additional features of the copier include image density adjustment, ID card copy, color density adjustment, and many others.
The SP C231SF's fax functionality features Super G3 transmission speed, which translates to a transmission speed of approximately 3 seconds per page. The fax has a 100 page memory, a 1 hour backup memory, and can scan pages in approximately 5 seconds. Additional features of the fax include auto redial, auto answer, PC fax (windows only), among many other useful features.
